Baptism

Learn about baptism and find out how to get baptised at our church.

What is baptism?

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. It’s for believers who have chosen to follow Jesus and want to publicly declare their faith. Being baptised by full immersion symbolises leaving the old life behind and being raised to new life in Christ, in obedience to Jesus’ command.

Why get baptised?

We get baptised because Jesus calls us to follow Him in this step. Baptism is an act of obedience, a way of identifying with Jesus, and a moment of publicly saying, “I belong to Christ.” It doesn’t make you a Christian, but it marks and celebrates the decision you’ve already made.

What does baptism mean for you?

Being baptised is a significant milestone in your faith journey. It’s a step of commitment, a declaration of trust, and a way of sharing your story with the church family. It’s also a moment of celebration, acknowledging the work God has already begun in your life.

What to expect on the day of your baptism?

Our baptism services are simple, meaningful, and supportive. You can share a short testimony or a few words about why you’re getting baptised if you like, and then step into the baptism pool with a leader. After being gently lowered under the water and raised again, the church will pray for you and celebrate alongside you.
